Information about the Karate Union of Great Britain
KUGB - Karate Union of Great Britain - is a democratic body controlled by its membership and operates under an approved constitution. The KUGB was established in order to develop Shotokan Karate, and is affiliated to European and World Shotokan Karate Bodies.
It consists of over 400 clubs, including Bristol Shotokan Karate Club, all of which practice Shotokan Karate.
The KUGB is by far the largest and most successful martial arts association in Great Britain with over 10,000 members. It was established in 1966, and celebrated its 40th anniversary in the Summer of 2006.
